AN INTERACTIVE VIRTUAL EXPERIENCE

I art directed on this one in cooperation with Brenda Chen as show director. Small art team as always, big customer.

Wave always had a desire to play surreal. Justin's aesthetic at the time worked against the overtly fantastical, so we took inspiration from his recent music videos, and then built the show over time to heightened naturalism.

As one might imagine, getting the avatar right was of utmost importance.

I worked with character artist/modeler Candi Quach to iterate on on the likeness, and hairstyle.

Outfit inspiration came from Justin's involvement with Drew House. Concept art by Eliot Min
